“Ammolite” is one of the world’s rarest organic gemstones.

Ammolite is an organic gemstone formed from the remains of fossilized marine mollusks, ‘ammolite’ shells which died 60 to 70 million years ago. The ammolite shells buried in the sea bed underwent continuous changes from the earth’s pressure and heat, causing minerals to form a thin gem layer over the shells. The under a source of light, ammolites produce a rainbow of colors in brilliant hues of red, green, blue and yellow. Each ‘ammolite’ gemstone is unique in color and pattern. Ammolite gets its color from the mineral ‘Aragonite’.
